Sound Familiar?

"I don't have a website at all."

You've been getting by on word of mouth and your truck wrap. It's worked. But when someone's pipe bursts at 2am, they're not looking at your truck. They're Googling "plumber near me."

"The guy who built my site disappeared."

Classic contractor story. Someone built you a site 5 years ago. Now your phone number is wrong, the photos are stock images, and you can't get a hold of anyone to fix it.

"Nobody finds me when they search online."

Your website looks fine. But when someone searches "electrician Louisville" or "roofer near me," your competitors show up and you don't. The site exists. It just doesn't work.

"I can't get quick updates when I need them."

You added a new service area. Changed your phone number. Need to add photos from a job you're proud of. But every little change is a project. You need someone who just handles it.

People Were Searching for Exactly What He Offered. They Just Couldn't Find Him.

A deck builder came to me. He was specific about his work: new builds and full remodels only, no small repairs. I asked what materials he used. Turns out he was using a specific composite decking material that people were actively searching for by name.

That's the kind of thing most web designers miss. They build you a pretty site, but they never ask "what are people actually searching for when they need what you do?" I do. We built pages around that material, his service areas, and his project photos. He stopped getting random calls and started getting exactly the right ones.

One Page for "Services" Isn't Enough. Here's Why.

A power washing company came to me with a basic website. One "Services" page that listed everything: house washing, deck cleaning, concrete, gutters, commercial. All lumped together.

Here's the problem. When someone searches "pressure washing driveway Louisville," Google needs a page that's about pressure washing driveways. Not a page that mentions it alongside 8 other services. I split each service into its own page with real descriptions, real photos, and real search terms. Each page could rank on its own.

That's the difference between having a website and having a website that actually gets found.

1
page per service. That's how Google finds you for each thing you do.

Your Truck Wrap Works. But Google Is Where the Calls Come From.

  1. You hired someone to build your website years ago. It worked for a while. Then they disappeared. Now your site says you serve areas you don't, your phone number changed, and half the photos are stock images of someone else's work.
  2. You rely on word of mouth and referrals. Both work great. But when someone's AC dies in July or their basement floods, they're not asking their neighbor for a recommendation. They're Googling it.
  3. You want to update your site but it feels like a project. A new service area. A new phone number. Photos from a job you're proud of. It shouldn't be this hard.

Here's the thing: you don't have to do any of that yourself. Text me. "Hey, I added deck staining to my services." Done. "New phone number." Updated. "Here are some photos from a kitchen remodel I just finished." They're on your site by tomorrow.

That's why I'm a web guy, not just a developer. I know your SEO. I can build your site. I can set up your Google Business Profile, explain how everything works, and keep it all running. One person who handles it all. That's the deal.

Contractor Work Is Seasonal. Your Marketing Should Be Too.

I start optimizing for summer AC repair searches in March so my clients are ranking by June. Storm season? I've already built the roof repair pages. Your customers search for specific services at specific times of year. I make sure you're visible when they do. Got an email list? I'll help you use it. Running a seasonal special? I'll get it on your site and send it out.

Lou running to get ahead of seasonal deadlines

Emergency Season

Winter (Pipes) & Summer (AC)

Frozen pipes, busted water heaters, dead AC units. These are the calls that come in at 2am. I make sure you're the one they find when they search.

Storm Season

Spring - Summer

Roof damage, tree removal, flooding, siding repair. After every storm, people search for help. Storm damage pages rank fast because the demand is immediate.

Spring Home Improvement

March - May

Landscaping, deck building, outdoor living. Homeowners are searching now. Got a spring special? I'll add it to your site and email your list.

Fall Maintenance

September - November

HVAC tune-ups, gutter cleaning, winterizing. "Schedule your furnace inspection" emails go out in September. By October, those slots are full.

New Construction

Spring - Summer

Builders, electricians, plumbers working new developments. Pages targeting "new construction electrician Louisville" bring in commercial leads.

Holiday Lighting

October - December

Christmas light installation, outdoor holiday decor. A seasonal page and a few email blasts can fill your November and December calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to common questions about contractor websites

Do contractors really need a website?

Yes. When someone's pipe bursts at 2am or their AC dies in July, they're Googling "plumber near me" or "HVAC repair Louisville." If you don't have a website, you're invisible to those people. Your truck wrap is great marketing. But Google is how people find you when they need you right now. I wrote a full breakdown of why contractors need a website if you want the details.

How much does a contractor website cost?

I offer three plans. Starter is $150/month (plus a one-time setup from $950) and gets you a professional contractor website with service pages, contact forms, and mobile optimization. Pro is $275/month (setup from $950) and adds ongoing SEO so customers find you on Google. Already have a site that needs fixing? Website Rescue starts at $150 for a full diagnostic. See my full breakdown of how much a small business website costs.

How long does it take?

Most sites are live within 1-2 weeks. You send me your info, photos, and service details. I build it. You review and we make tweaks. Done.

I'm not tech savvy. Will this be complicated?

Not at all. You don't touch any technology. Just send me your business info, photos of your work, and what services you offer. Text or email works. I handle everything else. When you need changes later, just call or text me.

How fast can you make updates?

Fast. New phone number? Text me, it's updated. Added a new service? Send me the details. Most changes are done within 24 hours. I'm not a big agency with a ticket queue. I'm one guy who handles it directly.

I serve multiple cities. Can you handle that?

Absolutely. I can create dedicated pages for each city or county you serve, which helps you rank in those areas. Louisville, Jeffersontown, St. Matthews, Shelbyville, wherever you work. Each location page targets those specific searches.

Can you help with email marketing too?

Yes. I can set up email capture on your site, build your list, and help you send emails when it matters. Seasonal maintenance reminders, storm damage specials, new service announcements. I'll set it all up and handle as much or as little as you want.

Can you fix a site someone else built?

Yes. I work on Wix sites, WordPress sites, Squarespace, you name it. If it's fixable, I'll fix it. If it's not worth fixing, I'll tell you and we can start fresh. Either way, you'll end up with something that works.

What if I don't know who owns my domain?

I'll track it down. I've done this before. Sometimes it's an old developer, sometimes it's a hosting company you forgot about, sometimes it's registered in someone else's name. I'll figure it out and get you access.

How do I know if I need a new site or just SEO help?

Good question. If your site is broken, outdated, or doesn't work on mobile, you probably need a rescue or rebuild. If your site looks fine but nobody finds it on Google, you need SEO. Not sure? Call me. I'll look at your site and give you an honest assessment. I'm not going to sell you a new website if you just need SEO.
