Family dentistry with digital scanning, same-day crowns, and a calmer atmosphere than you'd expect from a dental office. Dr. Maya Chen and her team actually want you to enjoy coming here.
Six things, done properly, in one office on Frankfort Avenue. Most of what a family needs over a lifetime is on this list, and the one below is what people drive across town for.
Most asked about
Same-Day Crowns
We scan the tooth, mill the crown here in the office, and fit it the same afternoon. No putty impression, no temporary that pops off over the weekend, and no second appointment three weeks later.
Cleanings, exams, fillings, and the routine care that keeps bigger problems from developing.
Exams, digital x-rays, cleanings, fillings, and sealants for kids. A new patient visit runs about an hour, so there is time to look at everything and actually talk it through. Most people come twice a year.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Veneers, bonding, and smile design for the thing that has been bugging you in photos.
Every cosmetic case starts with a digital preview, so you see the result on screen before anything permanent happens. Bonding is usually one visit. Veneers take two.
Teeth Whitening
Professional whitening in a single visit, or custom trays if you would rather go slower.
In-office whitening takes about an hour and most patients see several shades of difference the same day. Take-home trays are molded from the same digital scan and run two weeks.
Invisalign
Clear aligners that straighten teeth without metal brackets, fitted from a digital scan.
No impression putty, just a scan. Treatment usually runs six to eighteen months with a short checkup every six weeks. Adults and teens both, and the consultation is free.
Emergency Care
Toothaches, chipped teeth, lost crowns, and anything that cannot wait until next week.
Call before 10am and we do our best to see you the same day. After hours the voicemail routes to Dr. Chen, and she calls back rather than letting you sit on it all night.
Your Dentist
Meet Dr. Maya Chen
Dr. Chen is a Louisville native who earned her DMD from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. After years of practicing in larger offices, she opened Magnolia Dental Arts in 2018 on Frankfort Avenue because she wanted a smaller practice where she could actually get to know her patients instead of rushing through a packed schedule all day.
She invested in digital scanning and same-day crown technology early on because she figured the less time patients have to spend in the chair, the happier everyone is.

Patient Reviews
I hadn't been to a dentist in probably five years? Just dreaded it. Dr. Chen was super patient about all my questions and didn't make me feel judged at all. Also they have Netflix on the ceiling which honestly helps more than you'd think.
Sarah M., Crescent Hill
Needed a crown and they did it all in one appointment, which I didn't even know was possible. No temporary, no second visit. Dr. Chen showed me what it would look like on the screen before they made it. Really glad I didn't have to take another day off work for this.
Michael T., St. Matthews
We bring all three kids here now. My 6 year old used to cry before dental appointments and now she asks when she gets to go back because they let her watch cartoons. The front desk remembers our names too, which is a nice touch.
