Sound Familiar?

"Our website was built by a volunteer years ago."

They meant well. They did their best. But they moved away, got busy, or just stopped updating it. Now the site has last year's service times, broken links, and photos from 2019. Nobody knows the login.

"We don't have a website at all."

You have a Facebook page and a Google listing. That's it. When a family new to Louisville searches "church near me," they find congregations with websites. Yours doesn't show up.

"We can't accept donations online."

Younger members expect online giving. Visitors who want to support your mission can't find a way to do it from their phone. Every Sunday you pass a plate, but you're missing donations the other 6 days.

"Nobody knows about our event space."

You have a beautiful space for weddings, community events, birthday parties. But when someone searches "event venue Louisville," they find hotels and banquet halls. Your space sits empty.

A Beautiful Event Space Nobody Knew About. A $700 Value, Given Away Free.

A congregation had a gorgeous event space. Outdoor area, indoor hall, the works. They were offering 4 hours free to community groups, a $700 value, because they wanted people to use it.

But nobody knew. They had photos of community dinners, birthday parties, even small weddings. All sitting on a Facebook page with 200 followers. When someone searched "event space Louisville" or "venue rental near me," this place was nowhere.

All that potential, sitting empty. Not because the space wasn't great. Because nobody could find it online.

Non-Profits Do Incredible Work. They Often Have the Worst Websites.

I see it all the time. An organization doing real, meaningful work in Louisville. Feeding people. Housing people. Mentoring kids. But their website was built by a volunteer 6 years ago, can't accept donations online, and the "Events" page still shows a 2022 fundraiser.

It's not because they don't care. It's because every dollar goes to the mission, and a website always falls to the bottom of the list. I get it. That's why I keep my prices low specifically for organizations like this. A real online presence shouldn't be a luxury. It should be a tool that helps you do more of what you're already doing.

Why Churches and Non-Profits Keep Getting Stuck Online

  1. A volunteer built your website. They did a great job at the time. But they moved, got busy, or graduated. Now nobody knows how to update it, and every change feels like starting over.
  2. Your Facebook page is your website. It works for your current members. But Facebook doesn't show up when someone Googles "church near me" or "food bank Louisville." You're invisible to everyone outside your circle.
  3. You can't accept donations online. Younger members and first-time supporters expect to give from their phone. Every day without online giving is money your mission could be using.

Community Needs Are Seasonal. Your Website Should Reflect That.

VBS signups open in spring. Giving campaigns peak in December. Back-to-school drives happen in August. I make sure your site reflects what's happening now, not what happened last year. Got an email list? I'll help you use it to fill seats, recruit volunteers, and drive donations when it matters most.

March - April

Easter is the biggest Sunday of the year. Visitors are searching for churches to attend. VBS signups open. I make sure your site is ready before the rush.

School supply drives, youth group launches, new families looking for a church home. Fall is when families settle in. Be visible when they're searching.

New Year

January - February

New year, new commitments. People search for churches and volunteer opportunities in January more than any other month. Be ready when they look.

Fundraising Events

Year-Round

Galas, walk-a-thons, silent auctions, community dinners. Each event needs a page, registration, and promotion. I build them and help you fill them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to common questions about church and non-profit websites

Do churches really need a website?

Yes. Most first-time visitors check a church's website before attending. They want to see service times, what to expect, and get a feel for your community. If you don't have a website, they'll visit a church that does.

How much does a church or non-profit website cost?

I offer three plans. Starter is $150/month (plus a one-time setup from $950) and gets you a professional website with service times, donation integration, and mobile optimization. Pro is $275/month (setup from $950) and adds ongoing SEO so your community finds you on Google. Already have a site that needs fixing? Website Rescue starts at $150 for a full diagnostic.

Can we accept online donations?

Yes. I integrate with Tithe.ly, Givelify, Pushpay, PayPal, Stripe, or your existing giving platform. Members can give online, set up recurring donations, and you can track everything through your preferred system.

Can we post sermons and recordings?

Yes. I can create a sermon archive with audio, video, or both. Link to your YouTube channel, embed videos directly, or host audio files. Members who miss a service can catch up anytime.

Can volunteers sign up through the website?

Yes. I can add volunteer signup forms that collect contact info, interests, availability, and skills. These integrate with your volunteer management system or go straight to your inbox.

How do we update events and announcements?

You don't have to do it yourself. Updates are included with your monthly hosting. Just text or email me changes and I'll handle it within 24 hours. Most churches prefer this approach.

What if we're a small church or non-profit?

I work with organizations of all sizes. A small congregation still needs visitors to find service times and location. Even a simple site can make a big difference in helping new people find you. I keep my prices low specifically so smaller organizations can afford a real online presence.

Can you fix a site someone else built?

Yes. I work on Wix sites, WordPress sites, Squarespace, you name it. If it's fixable, I'll fix it. If it's not worth fixing, I'll tell you and we can start fresh. Either way, you'll end up with something that works.

How do I know if I need a new site or just SEO help?

If your site is broken, outdated, or doesn't work on mobile, you probably need a rescue or rebuild. If your site looks fine but nobody finds it on Google, you need SEO. Not sure? Call me. I'll look at your site and give you an honest assessment.
